Tonight’s The Rookie episode begins with John, he wakes up and finds Bailey being sick in the bathroom. He tells her that she should rethink trying to relive her college days. Bailey says Libby has plans the same for the coming night and she can’t say no to her.

Lucy is in the kitchen, she walks up to Tim who is making breakfast. The doorbell rings, Tim tells her it is Isabel, she is in town and she wanted to talk and hopes it is ok, she says it is fine. Tamara answers the door and introduces herself. Tamara whispers to Lucy asking if that is ex-wife Isabel and isn’t it a little weird.

Isabel tells Tim that she needs his help, she worked an assignment eight years ago she was undercover infiltrating the Teska family. Tim knows about them, guns, prostitution. Isabel says she took care of the daughter while she was undercover and hadn’t heard from her in eight years, until now. Her name is Dara, she leaves a message that she is scared and didn’t know who else to call. Tim says he will help her.

At the station, Grey doesn’t like that Lopez is still at work, he tells Thorsen he wants her to be her personal assistant and keep an eye out for her.

Bradford is in the station with Isabel, Smitty sees them and says hello. Harper sees Isabel and doesn’t look impressed, she asks Chen if she is ok with that and she says yes.

Bailey took a personal day, Nolan tells Harper Bailey has a friend over who she was in college with and she doesn’t think her liver can stand another day of partying with her.

Randy calls Harper, he asks her when trespassing a crime, she says always.

Bradford has Dara’s uncle in questioning, he says they got a call from her and she says she was scared. He won’t give any information. Bradford says Dara’s dad gets out of prison tomorrow, does he think that could be connected. Her uncle says he saw her the morning before and she is probably just sleeping one off.

Randy calls Harper again, he says he fund a murdered dead body, he gets him all nervous and he slips and falls in the man’s blood. All of a sudden, two cops bust open the door and find Randy over the dead body.

Randy is brought into the station, Harper is there and asks the cop if she can take over the case. In exchange she will take something off his case load, he agrees. Monica walks in and tells Randy not to talk, she is going to represent him. Harper tells her that Randy is just a witness, they are not treating him as a suspect.

Lopez gets a message, the location is switched for a meeting and it is upstairs. She tries a few stairs and can’t do it. Thorsen tells her to go down stairs and he will FaceTime her from the meeting.

Randy says he was at a bar, he met a woman named Emily Johnson, she ready about Randy being a bounty hunter and wanted him to help her. She was being stalked by a man named Nelson Frisk and if he would scare him. He went to Nelson’s house and found him dead.

Bradford speaks to Dara’s father over video call, he hasn’t a clue about what could have happened to Dara. Isabel doesn’t buy it. She remembers a motel she brought Dara to when she was little, a safe place, and thinks they should start there.

Randy calls Harper and he says “oops I did it again.”

Back at the station, Randy says he was trying to find the real killer. Fake Emily’s real name is Ariel Riser, she had five thousand dollars in her bedroom with a note from Randy. Someone is framing Randy. They tell Randy to go home while they look into this and he says it is no fun, like a monkey allergic to bananas.

Bailey is with her friend, they meet up with a man and Bailey is shocked. Her friend says that her husband is in love with her physical therapist, so why shouldn’t she have fun too.

Isabel and Tim are outside the motel, staking it out to see if they find Dara.

Harper can’t find a connection between Frisk and Randy. But, Nolan went through all the people Frisk was trolling and who would most likely want to kill him. At the top is Brian Cole, he is an accountant from Glendale, he has an airtight alibi.

Wesley tells Harper that she needs to make headway on Randy’s cases soon.

Bailey is brought in to the station. She tells him that Libby met a guy who was a creep, they got into a scuffle.

Randy messages Nolan, he tells him that he knows who the killer is and is in the trunk of their car right now. Harper and Nolan take off after Randy, they find the car in question and pull the person over. Harper makes the guy do a sobriety test while Nolan sneaks Randy out of the trunk. They had already invested the guy and he has an alibi.

Back at the station, Randy is bored and wants to help Nolan when he gets a message from Cooper who he beat twenty one times on the pickleball court, the signs in the messages mean death – Randy thought it was being he killed him on the court, but Nolan thinks that is there guy. They head over to the pickle ball court and Cooper is there, when he sees Randy he grabs him in a choke hold.

Dara does show up at the motel, Chen and Isabel go in. Dara says her dad is getting out tomorrow and she over heard her uncle say he was going to take him out. Bradford calls Chen and tells her four shooters are on their way in. Dara puts two and two together, realizes that Isabel and Chen are cops and makes a run for it. Bullets are fling everywhere, Isabel runs to Dara, she is safe.

Bailey is at home with her college friend who tells her that she is leaving and she thinks Bailey has a drinking problem, her ride arrives. Bailey says they should take next year off so she can get herself together. Her friend leaves and she goes to the kitchen and drinks the wine from the bottle.

Randy is ok, he got a bit hurt, but Cooper is taken in, case closed.

Grey tells Lopez to go home and don’t come back until after she gives birth.

Dara is ok, Isabel tells her that it is vital that she tells no one she is a cop. She tells her that her uncle is dead, the police are pretty sure that her dad ordered it. She says she has money hidden away, she is going to disappear for a while to decide what she wants to do.

Tim and Lucy are home, she opens two beers. She tells him that it was nice to get to know Isabel. She tells him that she loves working undercover but she is worried. He tells her everything will be fine.
